Background:

Guests of the show were presented with a computer, projector, and a keyboard. Projected on the wall were 8 panels, each with a drawing. The guest could type in any word, and receive drawings based on that word. Words to draw were then assigned to different (and sometimes the same) workers through Amazon.com's Mechanical Turk service. Drawings usually started to appear within 30 seconds, and the finished 8 drawings usually within 5 minutes.

At the end of the show, 90 words had been typed into the system, for a total of approximately 720 drawings.

Workers using the Amazon service could see the word they were to draw, and were paid $0.10 for each drawing.
